"Get Noticed" - Build a profile through the media; a workshop for artists, arts groups and galleries. This workshop is intended to level the playing field for publicity. All too often artists and galleries tend to view the act of getting free publicity as climbing a mountain, when in fact it should be more of a small hill. Find out how to write press releases that will actually be read, and used; how to approach radio, local newspapers, television and national media sources, and get published. It's easier than you think!
Michael Lancaster and his wife, Barbara Harnack, have been published in dozens of Newspaper articles, television spots, radio arts shows, and national media, such as The New York Times, Ceramics Monthly, Su Casa , and American Style. Barbara Harnack and Michael Lancaster practice their art as full time ceramic artists. They exhibit and sell their work in over fifty galleries nationwide. Michael will share simple press release concepts, as well as contact ideas which have worked for him for more than 25 years, as a ceramic artist, gallery owner, and public relations director of an arts center. The workshop will include outline formulas and hands on practice.
Saturday October 13, 2007, 1O AM till 12 PM (To be Followed by 'pot luck' lunch)
At the home of Michael Lancaster & Barbara Harnack, 98B Gold Mine Rd, Cerrillos
